Preservation's 20-plus years as a sonic and visual storyteller have manifested through an array of projects and collaborations. The long-time collaborator of Yasiin Bey and one-half of the critically acclaimed group Dr. Yen Lo with Brownsville Ka, Preservation’s sound has long intrigued artists of the highest caliber. His broad production work includes music with RZA, GZA, Raekwon, U-God, Sean Price, MF DOOM, KRS-One, Lord Jamar, Roc Marciano, Jean Grae, Quelle Chris, Mach-Hommy, billy woods, Moor Mother, Navy Blue, Your Old Droog, Aesop Rock, Chris Dave, and more.

As a tour DJ, he has performed around the globe. This immersion within the music communities of the world culminated in the release of his latest solo album, Eastern Medicine, Western Illness. Produced while living in Hong Kong for 3 years, Preservation showcased his outstanding curation abilities, bringing together some of Hip Hop’s most talented veterans and up-and-coming lyricists to merge in a story that weaves the East and West. The journey culminated in a short film, A Cure for the Common, which was created under Preservation’s discerning eye.

The critically acclaimed album Days with Dr. Yen Lo ranked #9 on Rolling Stones Best Hip-Hop Album. His music productions with Yasiin Bey include the Grammy-nominated album The Ecstatic and several tracks on True Magic. He is also co-writer of the worldwide hit "Wavin' Flag" by K’naan.

Preservation’s first solo release, Old Numbers resurrected songs, which had previously hit the cutting room floor bringing renewed value to tracks with independent film giant Jim Jaramush (reading the words of the Gza), Yasiin Bey, Jean Grae, veterans Ed O.G. and Gemini the gifted, and producer/rapper Minnesota. As a member of Sonic Sum, Preservation started making records at a culture-defining moment alongside the Ozone collective of Company Flow, Anti-pop Consortium, and Mike Ladd. Infesticons forever.

From the legendary stage of NYC’s Carnegie Hall to Bangkok’s Studio Lam and spaces between, Preservation is dedicated to generously giving his music to the world.
